Lomond digital acquisition targeting

Context

Lomond Capital is a partnership aiming to consolidate the fragmented UK residential property management market. The challenge was to target acquisitions for hubs and spokes amongst the 15,000 individual lettings and estate agencies across the country. Attracting PE investors required a robust, data-driven strategy.

Action

We built a geographic information system using MapInfo, incorporating ONS census data, agent and property data scraped from web portals and ownership data gleaned from industry experts and trade press. Field validation took place for all target areas.

Impact

The resulting CATScore™ prioritised the most strategically attractive cities, areas and individual targets. CATScore™ was a cornerstone of Lomond's £20 million fundraise and the ensuing 20+ acquisitions we conducted.
